At the top of Wallet interface you will see the total value of all your assets in dollar: credits and tokens.
What are Credits ?
Aleo uses a special kind of digital currency called Credits. You can use these Credits to pay for things you do on the Aleo network, like sending messages or storing information. Your total Credits are shown in the "Tokens" area when you first open your wallet. If you click on this area, you'll find more details about your Credits and how to manage them.
Your Credits Balance Explained
At the top of the Credits page, you'll see how many Credits you have right now. Aleo cares a lot about keeping your information private. So, your total Credits are a mix of two kinds: ones that everyone can see (public) and ones that only you (or people you trust with a special key) can see (private). After the section about "Staked" Credits, you'll see how many of each type you have.
Staked Credits are the ones you've set aside to help Aleo check and add new activities to the network. Doing this can earn you more Credits. But remember, these staked Credits don't count in your total until you decide to take them back. To learn more about staking, check out this guide.
